OZ hut: A Perfect Example of How Sharing Customer Accounts Increases Sales!

Posted on December 16, 2011 by Steve Deckert There have been 0 comments

OZ hut is an award-winning Australian eCommerce retailer that sells really cool, niche products across a family of eCommerce websites on Magento Enterprise. Oz hut's strategy is for each website to specialize in a specific niche of the market. The Oz hut family includes:

Since each website focuses on a specific niche of the market, customers may not shop at each store regularly. For example, customers won't purchase an expensive telescope kit from Oz Scopes on a regular basis.

So how does Oz hut motivate customers to make repeat purchases for niche products?

They share customer accounts across all stores and use a comprehensive customer loyalty program.

So while that same customer that bought the really expensive telescope may not necessarily return to Oz Scopes to earn more points, they will visit one of Oz hut's other stores. A customer could purchase a telescope, then navigate to OZ Torches to buy a flashlight so they can see while setting up their telescope in the dark. Not only is the customer motivated to spend more at any of OZ hut's family of stores, they are also more satisfied with only having to manage one loyalty program.

If you manage several websites with Magento, consider integrating a comprehensive rewards program across all of them to increase your cross-website revenue.

OZ hut is a great example of increasing revenue using a comprehensive loyalty program, to see this check out their website.
